Pablo Carlos Budassi created Nature’s Timespiral to depict our cosmic journey from the Big Bang to the present day.

The Awe and Wonder of the Epic of Evolution in Nature’s Timespiral

Huge gratitude to Pablo Carlos Budassi for his amazing depiction of the Epic of Evolution!

Pablo is an infographic illustrator and musician from Argentina. His passion is to learn about and share the great mysteries of the cosmos and of life. His ultimate goal is to convey his awe of the astonishing universe through art, music, and poetry. In the above image, every billion years is represented by a 90-degree rotation of the spiral. Each 90-degrees of the spiral represents events of 500 million years. Events depicted include the emergence of cosmic structures (ie stars, galaxies, planets, clusters), the emergence of the solar system, the Earth and the Moon, important geological events (gases in the atmosphere, great orogenies, glacial periods, etc.), emergence and evolution of living beings (first microbes, plants, animals, fungi), the evolution of hominid species, and important events in human evolution.
